Investigation by the US Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division recently found the Company in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Employees were paid on a piece-rate basis which dropped their hourly pay below federal minimum wage. The installers were also not paid for time spent on unsuccessful installations, for travel time, or for time spent in the office.
This is an example of why it pays to be represented by the IAM. You have an advocate that keeps constant watch over labor violations and will take on offending companies to make sure these laws are enforced.
